Hilltop - Greek Cajun

On the way to Washington State, on the winding way, I was outside of Fredericksburg. It was about lunch time. Happened across this cafe. About slammed on the brakes. A tall very friendly man kinda introduced me to the place. It was a very busy restaurant. Everybody seemed to know this guy. I saw his picture up on the wall playing a guitar. Saw a couple other ones. One with Joe King Carasco (sp?). Heard somebody say, "Johnny". Got his name, it was Johnny Nicholas. Johnny took me to the board where the specials were. This place was "Greek Cajun".

I ordered some kinda gumbo or something. Johnny said, "Good choice." Later, Johnny was replaced by a friendly waitress. The place was very busy, but they made you feel at home. It's hard to explain. They looked you in the eye, and seemed just real proud of the place. The gumbo greek thing was good. It was gonna be good, even if it wasn't good. But it was good. I garntee.

I saw a couple drawings up on the wall. Asked to be seated outside. Did a charcoal of the place. Left a tip and the drawing... and headed on down the road... Washington State...

Just saw they have a website. Here is the website: http://www.hilltopcafe.com.
